Club Panel Competition.

Wednesday 8th March saw the clubs panel competition judged by Sally Sallet ARPS CPAGB AFIAP and BPE3* of Wakefield Camera Club. Sally joined us on Zoom with members joining at the hall and at home.

The panel competition was a whole of club competition with no club or advanced section. Members submitted panels in three sections Monochrome, Nature and Colour.

Sally provided us with a entertaining evening reviewing a varied selection to panel themes. I am sure members will have found her comments informative and supportive in developing their skills in developing their panels. A winning panel was awarded in each section, with Commended and Highly Commended awards also being made.

MONOCHROME SECTION

The first section judged consisted of 16 panels in the monochrome section. The winning panel was ‘Bruce’s Bike Shop’ by Ann Dallaway. Ann linked the images together rather than separating the three images by a frame.

  • Ann Dallaway -Winner for ‘Bruce’s Bike Shop
  • Bill Pickard – Highly Commended for ‘Variations on a Running Jump’
  • Kim Rigg – Commended for ‘Dandelion’
  • Dave Nelson – Commended for ‘Frozen In Time’
  • Maureen Smith -Commended for ‘Midland Stairs’

Before the coffee break the 11 Nature panels were judged. The winning panel was ‘Garden Visitors’ by Bill Pickard. Sally enjoyed the movement and quality of the bird images.

  • Phil Drayton – Highly Commended for ‘Insects’
  • Gordon Mills – Commended for ‘Little Egret and Fish’
  • Russell Millner – Commended for ‘Morning on Hudson Bay’.

    Hi

Sorry to create amendments but garden visitors was my panel, it was
mentioned on the night, also the Commended  ‘Little Egret and Fish’ was
mentioned as mine but it wasn’t, unfortunately I’m not sure whose that
    belongs to.

    Kind regards

    Bill.
