Members Print Competition Three and Final Prints Results of 23/24.

The final prints competition of the 23/24 season was held on February 14th. The competition was judged by Carol and Gordon Watson of Lytham St Ann’s Photography Club. Carol and Gordon have many years experience of entering club, federation, national and international competitions and the club appreciates them driving up the M6 on a wet, foggy night to offer advice to members on their images.

Carol judged the colour images first. Nine images where held back into her final selection for the top scores.

David Poole was leading the season’s league table going into the final competition having only dropped one point in the first two print competitions. David finished the season with another win for his image ‘Aggressive Buzzard’. David completed the season with 118/120 points, a truly impressive score. Well done David for winning the 23-24 Colour Prints Trophy.

Congratulations also go to Kim Rigg who scored 20 points for her image ‘Pretty in Pink’. Kim took joint second place in this season’s Print Competition along with Bill Pickard and Laurie Thurlow all achieving a total of 108/120. Well done to all three members.

After the coffee break Gordon judged the monochrome images. Gordon offered advice on images and held back eight into his final selection. At this point Gordon needed to give careful consideration to the detail of images as he worked towards his final winning image.

Gordon awarded first place to Kim Rigg for her image ‘Georgia’. Kim achieved maximum points on the night having also achieved 20 points for her image ‘Out of Luck’. In addition, David Poole scored 20 points for his image ‘Christian Iddoni’.

When the final scores were totalled the overall winner for the Monochrome Print Competition for the 23/24 season was Kim Rigg with 112/120. Second place went to David Poole and third place to Jeff Bagnall.
