Wednesday 4th October 2023 saw the first club print competition of the season.

Alan Walker MPAGB, ARPS, EFIAP, MPSA, BPE4* of Keswick Photographic Society was the judge for the evening. Alan and his wife Julie were once members of Kendal Photographic Club and are well known to club members.

Alan judged the images cold on the night sharing his thoughts and advice to improve our images. Alan judged 32 Monochrome images first.

Below are the images held back to the final selection which received marks of 18,19 and 20 in the final judging.

The winning image on the night was ‘View From Cabane d’Orny’ by Russell Millner.

Congratulation also go to Gavin Lowe for ‘Feeding Time’, Karen Carruthers for ‘West African Giraffe’ and Bill Pickard for ‘The Cobb Lyme Regis’ who all achieved 20 points.

After the coffee break Alan judged the Colour Competition. 34 Colour images were judged, with one new member to the club participating in a colour competition for the first time.

Congratulation goes to Laurie Thurlow the winner with his image ‘Two Men in a Boat’.

Well done to Phil Drayton who achieved 20 points for ‘Flower Raindrops’. Finally congratulation to David Poole who achieved the double on the night with 20 points for his images ‘Long Tailed Tit Trio’ and ‘Kestrel with Mouse’.
