The Final PDI Competition of 2022 was a Sports Image Competition which was judged by Vincent Scothern.
Vin from Nottingham had previously given a zoom presentation to the club, sharing his knowledge as an experienced sports photographer.
The evening was entertaining as members entered a varied and idiosyncratic selection of sports images. Images of Cumbrian wrestling, fell running, husky racing and Innuit wrestling provided variety from the more traditional rugby and motor sports.
In the Club Mono Section, Gordon Bramwell’s image ‘Race Leader’ took first place with 20 points with Derek Mackie achieving 19 for his image ‘Scrambling Trails’.

In the Club Colour Section Liz Bagnall took first place with ‘Sand Yacht’ with Ann Bench taking second place with 19 points for ‘Out in Front’.
In the advance section Ann Dalloway achieved first place in both the Colour and Mono Sections with ‘Sting in the Tail’ and ‘Junior Grand National..

‘Trail Rider’ by Jeff Bangell and ‘They Can’t See Me’ by Dave Nelson both held second place in the Advance Mono.

‘Wear Yellow in Paris’ by Maureen Smith and ‘Sand Yachting’ by Jeff Bagnall both achieved 19 points and second place in the Advance Colour.

Thanks to all members who shared their great images and to Vin for judging.
